3. Drop-Off Food Donations

Walmart Canada stores will also be accepting non-perishable food donations as well. Look for a donation bin at the front of each store. Please consider nutritious food options such as canned protein, fruits and vegetables, rice, whole wheat pasta and sauces, soups and protein alternatives (ex: peanut butter and beans) when dropping off your donations.

Walmart’s Commitment to Hunger in Canada

Walmart and the Walmart Foundation are working together to address food waste and food insecurity by supporting the work of the food bank network in Canada.  Walmart stores have donated over 16 million pounds of surplus quality food to food banks across the country since 2012.

The food diversion program pairs Walmart stores with a local food bank to ensure surplus quality food is donated to local food banks. Walmart Canada has also donated more than $10.5 million since 2011 to Food Banks Canada and the Walmart Foundation has invested close to $6 million to build capacity in the food bank network- from trucks, new refrigerators, and staff resources to ensure food is safely and properly distributed to those who need it most.
